Sparkly Soiree Shimmer Ultrachic Reception Wedding Ideas
From shiny surfaces to subtle sequin accents, everything shimmers in this ultrachic reception.
A posh, polished version of every little girl’s childhood wedding fantasy—that’s what we set out to achieve with Meredith Waga-Perez, floral and event designer and owner of NYC’s Belle Fleur. A Manhattan loft with floor-to-ceiling windows, aptly named The Glasshouses, provided the perfect canvas for our concept: playing the reflective qualities of different transparent surfaces—crystal, rhinestones, even ice—against one another for a glittering gala. The entry table displays three very cool (literally!) vases, hand-carved by Okamoto Studio Ice Sculpture, holding harmony calla lilies, Phalaenopsis orchids, peonies and garden roses.

One fab floor arrangement: A blue-tinged bow of tillandsia medusa ties together this giant bouquet of viburnum, brassia rex orchids, and bear grass.
Consider putting a personal posy of steel grass–tied tweedia at each place setting.
When serving lemony punch, brighten up the table with a green magnolia wreath, then surround the bowl with Aalsmeer gold, flair spray, and garden roses.
A yellow-washed window box planted with tête-à-tête daffodils and maidenhair fern is ideal for a long feasting table

After the ceremony, at a local church marked with an elaborate shell garland and curtains, everyone headed to the beachside reception. The bride, wearing a dress made of several layers of antique cotton petticoats, carries a bouquet of ranunculus, clematis, anemones, grape hyacinths, violet and white passion vine and cattleya orchids wrapped with vintage ribbon. Flowers, Ariella Chezar. A seashell garland. The Landing, a boutique hotel on scenic Harbour Island, Bahamas, sparked some sophisticated tropical touches for this island celebration.
